proj-data software package provides Cartographic projection filter and library (datum package), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install proj-data
proj-data is installed in your system.
Make ensure the proj-data package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep proj-data *
You will get with proj-data package name, version, architecture and description in a table
